5k/10k is basically a gimmick, like a hot dog eating contest. Anything slower than sprinting is some kind of backwater thing in-between running and walking. If that's what you're into, fine, but this is a running board.

I agree that more effort is required in the 5K/10K double.
But which is harder to win?
Maybe some geek could look back at results from the Olympics for the past century or so and present sum up their findings here - how many individuals have pulled off each double, etc.
Also would be interested to hear about some of the less popular doubles:
200/400 - Michael Johnson being the poster child
400/800 - has anyone won both at an Olympics or WC?
800/1500 - didn't Ramzi get wins for both of these taken away for doping?
1500/5000 - El G pulled it off in Athens.
