Gay back, Powell back
what a joke
sprinting is a joke
in b4 people jump all over my post about distance running being dirty
As if that wasn't enough, here's Powell's tweet from earlier today. He says he'll be at Spitzen Leichtathletik tomorrow. Faster than speeding doper!
Asafa Powell @officialasafa
Thanks again for all the kind words and responses. Off to bed ... Luzern Meet tomorrow in Switzerland..See u on the track! Always grateful.

Even if it is, sprinting is way dirtier than distance running, you're right about that.
The only thing they missed was the World Champs last year. This is bs. It is hard enough to watch track without niggling thoughts as it is. Ban reductions add to the frustration.
Powell is a bad liar. He slips up everytime he opens his mouth.
Irrelevant. They are both washed up years ago.
There are different kinds of dopers. Most are those who want to take something they believe will heal their injury faster, but they are not hardcore dopers. Others are on a sophisticated program like Armstrong, Maroid Jones or Barry Bonds
Wat a bunch of morrons you all are. If there has been one clean and consistent sprinter in the past decade; it's Powell.
The man gradually improved from 2003 untill 2007-2008 and is gradually going backwards since then. No dramatic peaks or a sudden streak of 10.2's. Just gradual improvement and gradual decline. The substance he's caught for is just as strong as the caffeine in your espresso and will be removed from the WADA list in 2016.
Furtermore; together with Kim C about the only sprinter that doesn't act like a roided up freak on the starting line; the most obvious sign of testosterone fueled over self-confidence.
That can't be said about the 2 guys on the top of the 2014 performance list; one convicted testosterone doper who suddenly runs and looks like he travelled back 10 years in time, and one convicted DHEA doper who runs a world class time in his first race, after a year off, serious hip surgeory and about 4-5kg in muscle gain.
I don't trust Blake for one bit either, so it's not a US vs JAM thing (Im from Europe)
So, let me get this straight. It's okay to take a banned substance if it is going to be removed from the banned list. Powell's decline has probably more down to injuries over the past few years. To paraphrase you, "Powell doesn't dope because he is quiet on the startline", what a stupid point. I can imagine Powell saying that as a sentence in defence to WADA.
BTW, Powell is also a convicted doper. He knows the banned substances and still doped. If he is willing to take a banned substance with minimal PE capabilities, I believe he would be willing to go further. I don't buy his story.

Aha...you put hardcore testosterone and one of its precursors on the same level of cheating as a substance like...eeehmm...well...caffeine?
As for my comment on the starting line; you ever lined up in a half decent field in a 100 with some guys who YOU know are on dope? The stuff changes quit and modest personalities into overconfident guys like...well...Gatlin. Athletes KNOW who dopes and who doesn't if you run against them and believe me; I've had enough races against roided up dumb*sses to recognize the difference with clean athletes.
As far as you're assumption on 'willing to go further'; what a load of bull. The man is made scapegoat on a minor offence because of JADCO's problems with WADA, and to put some media attention on Jamaica instead of the whole Tyson Gay story. If that story hadn't come out then, Powell would had gotten a warning and a 2 month 'cooling period'. The intake of a stimulant which doesn't do anything more than a cup of espresso isn't a sign for doping.
Guess you're American?
There is now no doubt whatsoever that Powell is a doper.
Before the positive finding, there were 9.72, 9.74, and 9.77, which were very, very highly suggestive, especially of course the 9.72
Combined with the positive finding and the pharmacy with which he was found, and the revelations about the total absence of any Jamaican testing, there now remains no reasonable doubt...not that there was any in the mind of any reasonable person before...
Bolt, Blake, and Powell are all dopers 100%. Carter and Frater no doubt did it for a while, too, but may be off now. Ashmeade is also questionable.

Man o man o man...you guys don't know anything.
The Jamaicans get tested a lot; check the testing stat's on the IAAF website. Then compare, for instance, Powells stats in 2008 to those of some prominent Americans in that year. Than comment again. When out of Jamaica, JADCO doesn't do shit...just like USADA doesn't do shit when athletes are abroad. As it happens to be; most pro-athletes are abroad 60-70% of the time. There it's the local anti-doping agency, together with WADA and IAAF who do the testing. You guys are shouting BS based on (US!) media coverage...which blew up the Powell story to downplay the Gay scandal. Powell got caught for a caffeine like substance in a Vitamin supplement. Since I was part of a big group of all kinds of sporters that had some problems with Nandrolon in a creatin supplement in 1998, I know how simple it is to get f*cked over by some idiot supplement company.
So...go back to your PC...actually try to understand this sport...and than conclude again. The only dopers still around are Gay and Gatlin...who both got protected during a large part of their carreer by USATF and USADA...just like 'Norbo' Mo Greene and MJ. The last one hád to stop. He tested positive in the 2000 season. IAAF and Nike cut a deal. So thats why the man did this stupid farewell relay tour when he actually was capable to beat the whole field in Edmonton 2001.
The top Jamaican sprinters were not tested for the 6 months leading up to London 2012. How anyone can defend Powell is beyond me. The evidence is overwhelming. I am not American and I think Gay should have got a longer ban. You're MJ point is just speculation. Powell is a proven doper.
So, all of the Jamaican sprinters who tested positive were blown out of proportion? That is a all just a massive coincidence?
Get Real!
Wow you guys are so bitter.
The fact is that Powell and Simpson are SUPERIOR athletes that put in hard work in the weight room and on the track and got BUFFer than any of you ever will.
Does that mean they cheated? No. They got there on their own with hard sweat.
Yes, maybe they trusted someone they should not have trusted. But in the end, those are great athletes trying to make a living and I am glad they're back.
Kabayo is a complete Jamaican fanboy who can't see daylight because his head is so far up his asz.
Obviously Greene and MJ were dopers, that is beyond question. It is also not the issue here.
Obviously Gatlin and Gay are dopers, that is beyond question. It is also not the issue here.
Obviously Powell and Blake are dopers, that is beyond question. THAT is the issue here.
Obviously Bolt is among the biggest dopers in t&f history, that is beyond question. Obviously Diack has had his hand down Bolt's pants, that is beyond question. Obviously Bolt has been protected throughout his ENTIRE career by WADA and IAAF, that is beyond question. THAT is ALWAYS an issue.
I 100% disagree. LetsRun is known for it's strong anti-doping stance but you are talking about people's livelihoods. To us, intentional PED usage should result in a lifetime ban.
But you have to be 100% sure. The CAS decision will be explained in a few weeks but the fact that they made JADCO pay for the athlete's lawyers fees says a lot.
The war on PEDs is similar to the war on crime. Yes, lock the bad guys up. But if you don't have proof, you don't lock them up.
Hello people. Maggie Vessey served a 3 month ban. Is she a big time cheater? Or did she make a mistake.
Please don't mouth off unless you've read the details of the decision - which I doubt you have because it hasn't come out yet.
I'm going to wait until the decision comes out.
There is evidence for Gatlin, Gay, Blake and now Powell. There is no whatsoever for Bolt. So, in accordance to accusation policy, kill yourself.
I don't believe MJ's WR at 400m was clean. To beat it at 32. And then to win the Olympics at 33. Doesn't seem right.
Doping is just not going to stop. At this point, maybe legalizing it would be better. Faster people, better records. Just don't legalize it with the kids.
