fantastic result. she has improved every race this season, counting the heat effects for the US champs. And she has gotten closer to the winner in each one of these things. 9:11 is outstanding, and if she gets down to 9:08, she will be hard to beat. Notably, Chemos ran what I think was her fastest time of the year in 9:21--maybe she is getting in shape and will be in the mix.

100%.

1) She is not afraid to race.

2) She does not let a rabbit determine her destiny.

3) Today she ran like she really thought she could win.

The camera angle was tremendous for this race. It was a side shot the entire final 200m. Made it even more exciting.

It's also really easy to be a fan of her because she still trains under Wetmore, in Boulder and not under a hissy fit throwing, prozac, DMSO using, power wielding coach in a runner producing lab in Nike Town.

Plus she's hot.

Congratulations Emma Coburn! Great effort today. Her season has been magical.

totally agree, she's running like a female Prefontaine...to see who has guts, not who is necessarily the fastest...props to her and the American ladies for stepping up the last few years...hope she and the others continue to chase their dreams...

She is incredibly talented and gutsy, and she's very personable, too. It's great to see American women finally challenging the Africans. Way to go Coburn and Simpson! You're making us proud!

For christsakes, wejo and love to say it (and I'm sure others in the mob will join) can't just focus on an incredible performance and accomplishment without taking swipes at others. And who are these Americans or just American MEN? If you're going to sh#t on what should be a party for Coburn, at least have guts to name names.

It's impossible not to like her after watching her races. Coaches and personalities really have nothing to do with why I dislike many of the people you're referring to. It's about going out and having a real go.

I just can't not enjoy watching races like the ones Coburn runs but I have a very tough time forcing myself to enjoy the jogfests that are very often on the men's side these days and you know what, even that is fine. If you go into the race planning to sit and kick more power to you. What really puts me off these days is announcing fast times, record attempts and having pacemakers asked to do certain times all the while no attempt is actually made at running fast.

It confuses the shit out of me how these people can live with themselves lying about what you're going to do and showing your real intentions within the first 200m of a race jogging through it in 40 seconds.

Simpson, Coburn, RUDISHA, these are the athletes you respect and can't wait to see race regardless of what their coaches do or how they act on/off the field. They go for it. It makes you want to get up and do another training session in hopes of becoming like them.

The "Sex" in the youtube address made me think I was being trolled, but it is legit.
