Not a 3 second PR. Check her 1500m split from her mile indoor race.
That doesn't count, dumb@ss.
Yes, Jordan had only run 4:10.28 on 01MAY2011, but she had also run 4:08.66 indoors in Boston on 24JAN2014, so I expected her to do a little better outdoors. Since she is very consistent, her 4:07.70 is not surprising. Did she go all out or was she just aiming for a PB? One wishes she could surprise us sometimes with a bigger PR jump. However, I have enjoyed following her the last approximately 10 years.

Why not? Is the 1500m mark of a mile a different length?
how does a 4:10 runner not from the country where the race is contested get into a DL 1500? That's a nice pr for her but there are dozens if not hundreds of more deserving runners for that slot.
Pretty sure it does count, Vana
women are getting sickly fast over the last decade... i guess so are men.... people are fast..
So she's getting closer to Alexa E. now?

Her agent is UK based.

Jordan is the #4 athlete in the world for 2014 over 10k. Meets make choices all the time when top athletes want to change distances and give something else a go. Separately, she (as mentioned elsewhere in the boards) is a brand and these meets need the big name brands competing.
As for dozens/hundreds, you\\\'re right in a vacuum: there\\\'d be about 100 girls this year who had ran faster than her ~4:10 time coming in. Who knows how many tried to get in here? Even if they had tried, are we really complaining about an American athlete -- who is one of the stronger & longer standing brands in the sport -- being allowed to compete in DL races? Isn\\\'t this actually a good thing for the sport? If what you want to do is throw down about NOP getting preferential treatment then post about that, not about an otherwise bright spot in Glasgow.
If someone getting last in a Diamond League race is a bright spot then they shouldn't have been in the race.

Doesn't count because it was indoors.
Kudos to Jordan for the PR and for not getting lapped.

Illogical and stupid.
There will always be a slowest runner in every race. Doesn't mean they can't have a good race and deserve to be there, someone always has to be last. She was last and pr'd.
It's not illogical and stupid unless you are brainless. Of course someone has to be last - it should be because they had a bad day. We shouldn't have runners in our premiere events being stoked about being last. That means they didn't belong.

Let me guess...You feel there are many more 'deserving' Brooks or Oiselle athletes that should have been in that race before Hasay?
Poor Jordan can't win. You people complain when she doesn't PR by enough, unless she gets into races like this and other paced DL races, she doesn't have that great of a shot to PR by what you all deem worthy enough.
Let\'s talk after the Monaco 5k... and see if she *actually* deserves to be in the Diamond League after that...
I didn't say that she doesn't deserve to be in any Diamond League races. Come on.

When your primary race is the 10K, I would think getting a PR in a 1500m is the priority. Very few 10K specialists can compete in the mile in a DL race.

Agreed. Wholeheartedly. And that's why she couldn't compete today. I'm all for racing off distances. But she shouldn't have been in a Diamond League 1500m.
