NOP delivers destruction to Lagat via the Canadian missile!!!
NOP delivers destruction to Lagat via the Canadian missile!!!
what was the time? cause... Levins is 25... Legat is a few months from 40. im a canadian BTW but Levins is probably the best we have over that distance. him or Ahmed, if our best isnt beating a 40 year old that isnt really a good sign. Legat is a machine however the fact hes doin what hes doin g at 39 is remarkable.
Levins is a great runner not because of NOP, he is just great and he would perform at that level with Brooks or someone else as well.

The best the United States has isn't beating that particular 40 year-old.

1) unlikely
2) you're dumb
Levins was on a path to an early retirement before joining NOP. Almost everyone was in agreement he wasn't going to last long.
Then he joined NOP and set prs and people said it was a failure.
Now it's looking like he'll crush some more prs and people try and discredit NOP.
Maybe he'd have been just as good elsewhere but he's not. He's thriving under NOP and the odds are he wouldn't be elsewhere.
So, let me get this straight:
Cam was at a university (SUU) where he ran 13:18 and 27:27 in tactical affairs (especially the 10k.)
Moves to Portland with the all knowing Salazar is 2 or 3 years older and has managed 13:15 and 27:40 ish in bigtime European races with every gaget and training advantage known to mankind.
Pretty easy to see where he was flourishing and who doesn't know how to coach him.

You make some interesting points.

This is the first time I'ver heard "Almost everyone was in agreement he wasn't going to last long."
It's true Levins was building a big mileage base, but at what pace were the mioles being run, and at what altitude? Would you say Geoffery Mutai should not last long in the sport because of his high mileage training?

Well, we will never know whether that big base he was building would have panned out for the Rio 2016 marathon, since it was pre-empted by (I think) Salazar's directive at NOP.

Yes please get this straight because you're clearly an f'tard.
1) how many years isn't up for debate. It's just past 1 year moron. You can't just do a range because you feel like it tacking on 1-2 years,
2) he pr'd off the bat with Al sal after backing off. 3:36 huge 1500 pr and 13:15.
3) he only ran one 10k last year and it was at worlds.
4) he ran 4:55i, 7:41i, 13:19i all prs and the 5k the NR.
5) just over 1 year after joining al sal he ran the 13:15 today in a slow race crushing a bunch of fast guys.
6) you'd have to be an idiot to not see that within just over a year after joining NOP he's ready to crush his pr and he knows it obviously

Mutai ran what he last two thons? 2:08? I think most would agree he won't last much longer.

Wow retard told you. You obviously know nothing about the sport and are just a NOP basher. He's been with al sal for 14-15 months and has set numbers prs, a few national records, and looks poised to crush his 5k pr this summer. Not too shabby. 2-3 years? Learn how to count.
I disagree with the earlier statement about "everyone being in agreement" about Levins heading for an early retirement with his mileage. In fact, I barely heard anyone talk about that.
However, Retardalert is right for the most part about how NOP has done great for Levins. He has PR'd in almost EVERY event (especially indoors), and it's only been just over a year.
Anyone who claims otherwise is just ignorant. You can't say that NOP is failing Levins when he has been running better times than ever before, just because you don't like NOP.
Wow. I hope Lagat will retire. Pretty shameful.
You think Mutai was blowing smoke when he said he was tackling the WR at London this past spring? If he wasn't, then how could he have misjudged his fitness so badly, eh?
Unless he didn't misjudge his fitness, and just blew up going for the WR.
I think this confirms Rupp could have destroyed Lagat at USA's...
It was just a bad race. Nothing more, nothing less. I honestly would love to see Lagat win a US title when he's in his forties. Also, let's not forget. Dude DID set an american record this past winter. And won the US 5,000 title. Runner up in the 3,000 in Sopot...
Dude's still at the top of his game. Everyone has bad races. This was just one of them. Just like weather isn't climate, a single result doesn't end his career.

You'd "love" to see him win a title? You haven't seen him win enough titles? Stop being a pc dbag and admit that it's time for the old sob to go away and let someone else win. And if he's been doped all or most or some of this time, it's an f-ing travesty.

Really. You don't think it would be cool to see a 40 something win a US title. You are one odd human. Why would I want someone to go away that is so good for the sport? It isn't like he's the only one winning. Rupp, Solomon, Manzano, Centro, etc. don't exist in your mind? It's the combat against the natural degression of athletic ability that makes him a good story. And sure, if he has been a doper it would suck. But as far as anyone know, he hasn't been. So, no, it is absurd to think that I should want him just to stop because he should 'let someone else win'.
Ans if you're a troll, well done.
