Hate to bring this up, and don't want to provoke a hornets' nest... But haven't seen any other thread(s) that might have been posted on this already, so here goes... Has anybody else been wondering what's up with a number of the top Jamaican sprinters either performing poorly so far this season or laying low and pulling out of meets till much later?
Bolt saying he's injured and staying on the sidelines, SAFP running slow then saying she's injured, Blake performing terribly, etc. I know there are exceptions like Weir, and VCB seems to be rocketing back into form. But overall the situation as a whole just seems a little strange to me. Has JADCO been forced to get more rigorous now with drug testing after having been called on the carpet for the abysmally low number of tests they've been performing up till now? Are the athletes perhaps now on a "learning curve" playing it safe figuring out strategies to adapt/beat more rigorous tests?
Again, I don't know. Maybe I'm imagining more sprinters being out of action or running way off their best than actually are. Been busy and have not had the time to examine things more comprehensively, though, and therefore wondering what others think, both pro and con, and thoughtful reasons why.
