I fail to see any significant persons listed in your post, with the exception of Hawking, and he is unlikely to have posted here.

Henry was significant as a runner, but that is one small area of significance. He is not particularly significant in the scheme of things, although that can be said for every human, to some extent.

TnF, marathoning, distance running ... all athletic endeavors ... running x number of times around a circle, running fast from point A to point B ... let's keep things in perspective.

Well then, any person of significance will not post on this or any running web site. In the real world no one gives a shit about track and field or cross country. So Hank is number 1..................

!00% sure it was Henry Rono- IIRC malmo got him to post when Henry was training for a masters mile attempt.

I spoke with him by phone a number of times. Patti Dillon, then a frequent poster was at a speaking engagement with him and she introduced us over the phone.

Hard to believe that was 6 years ago--time flies...
