OP, I've been in your position, but as a cyclist. Most people don't understand the sacrifices you endure, the looks you get when you tell people you are serious about being an endurance athlete, the monk life.
It's depressing to read your account of what happened. Really feel for you and it can't ever be made right, unfortunately. Try to remember it's about the journey, it'll help you keep your sanity.
Kenah of all people to do this strikes me as very strange. Hard to believe he doesn't "get it." The PC apology was insulting IMO.
