Nevermind, I found the answer.
So you are not surprised...the Gatorade is mixed from a powder and it's usually very strong
Yeah, I found that out today. It got stronger, too. At the end I almost threw up because it was so strong. I guess it's not really logical to try to grab a cub of water and a cup of gatorade and dilute it myself.
The best way may be this -- the water comes first, so at each station, drink some water and then immediately drink some gatorade, so at least the mix is weaker once it's inside you...that should keep you from throwing up
Second-best way may be the "mix it yourself" way...the stations at ING NYCM are set up so that it's water first, then gatorade...the volunteers are usually wearing different-colored ponchos so you can tell where the water ends and gatorade starts
Maybe try taking a cup of water from one of the last ones holding water, then a cup of gatorade from one of the first one holding gatorade -- that way you are not trying to run 15 seconds with a cup of water
