Course not, that's why he's GaMo's pacemaker

GaMo. Has a merger occurred?
Great. Another Cam CJ thread. Well, enjoy!
That's nice, but it's no big deal to lead a race when you know there is no depth in the field. Cam wouldn't have outkicked Lagat, nor would he have beaten Galen Rupp (if Rupp had run the 5k).
Cam would have placed a respectable 4th in the US race
What were the results in the Women's 5000m at the Canadian Champs?
If he won by 25-sec that means that 13:50 was 2nd place, which means that Canada is worse than D2 Track.
1325 is a very good time solo.
i hope levins continues to get his game back. he's the next phenom.

And 4th in the US is at least 27th in the world!
No risk in leading if you know you could have a minor blowup and still hang on to win, or just run at 90% effort, due to the weak field.

Good for Levins!
Yes, Much better than his Prefontaine 5k. He looked uncomfortable running a slow pace for 4k at Oxy as well this year, so today was a step in the right direction.
I'd like to see the race to get a better idea of how much he had left in the tank.
Was that done in trainers or in spikes?
What workout did he after that?
Ran it in spikes, but looked good. Was interviewed post-race, but I'm not sure where that's posted. He closed in 60 and wasn't bent over or anything after. Smiled, chatted with people, etc.
People in the crowd speculated he was chasing the National Championships record (which he missed by a few decimal points).
Forget comparing this to USA Champs, but running seven seconds off a PB on a hot night, totally solo and looking smooth is encouraging given the rough season he's had so far.

Rupp calls that halfway.
I recall a thread proclaiming Levins' 13:19 was so much better than Chelanga's 13:04 run in the same race this past January in Boston.
A level of delusion all too common in our society

...to 26:50.......which gave him 90 more seconds to run at US nationals.
And he ducked his own nationals 5000.
Idiot.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
