Since you're on the fence already you clearly want to do it and just need encouragement.
Let me say that using a razor takes longer, can be uncomfortable (ingrown hairs), is not comfortable to cozy up to, and most importantly...where you do stop shaving? If you go all the way up you are in for a disappointing experience, and if you don't now you have permaboxers made of hair.
Use a hair trimmer without the guard, it's much easier, more comfortable for you and your partner and accomplishes what you are really after.
And what benefits are you after?
- aesthetic maybe, whatever.
- more effective massage (by yourself or therapist)
- easier to tell if you're dehydrated, a little heavy, too lean (unlikely!) etc.
- easier to see symmetries or lack of in the musculature.
- feels faster (sounds ridiculous, I know!, but psychological tricks are great)
