titles-- yes; records-- no...
now that they've curbed the epo thing, it will be a long time before we see 12:39 and 26:22 again...

I realize the thread is 16+ years old, but Bekele is Donesky!

yeah, I've been a big fan for a long time and was holding out hope that he would pull out another couple fast races after Berlin but just seems like he either doesn't put in the time needed to be a top marathoner or is just too injury prone at this point in his career.
Would be great to see him do another fast marathon to qualify for Tokyo 2020 and compete at top level again but after this stress fracture before Tokyo this year, i fear he is done as well
Another year, another stellar performance from the GREAT ONE.
2:01:41 marathon Berlin winner.
Glory to the all surface distance runner greatest. Even at 37 years old he is still teaching and showing his pure class.
GOAT gonna goat
amazing how much micro dosing EPO still works and is undetectable in the biological passport...
Looks like this thread will go on till Tokyo Olympics.

care to make it interesting???
the guy's an enormous talent, but you obviously have no idea how fast 12:39/26:22 is... i'll wager everything i own that he doesn't get either record... how about you???
You got Bekeled!!!
The goat doesn’t stop there
Bekele is too old to destroy the field 10-15 times like he used too when he was young.
Instead, he just come, run one race, put a beating with the world leading marathon time and then leave dropping the mic like a boss !
yo lowkey, does VIPAM still fux?
Joshua Cheptegei: how soon will he totally annihilate the distance WR's?
Just finished reading the first 40 pages of this thread, and it's honestly sad to see what this site has ended up as today. First we had VIPAM, now we have Banana Bread.

Paris 2024?
That would be 21 years after this thread was started
Three decades later and Kenenisa still breaking world records.
2:05:53.......5) London Marathon.
First master under 2:06
Don't know about Kiochoge's WR however if 40 year old Bekele can remain healthy for the next World's and Olympics he has to be considered a medal threat. We never expected a 40 year old to run 2:05 especially injury prone Bekele. So if he can remain healthy and reach his full potential even at 41-42 he can definitely medal.
Three decades?
Yes Sir
Kenenisa emerged around 2001; therefore,
2000-2009.....1 decade.
2010-2019.....2 decades.
2020-2029.....3 decades
That would mean 2022 places his competitive elite career at 3 decades
