Alexa- " I want Cain!"
Cain- " I want to race this kid"
Alberto " Whatever race shes in im pulling you out Mary"
Just like Rocky 3.
She is, definitely. I believe she is only just under 4 seconds behind Mary Cain in the 800 (which is nothing to scoff at)

I thought they raced already on Feb 15 in NYC? Anyone recall the results?
More like two seconds, at most. Cain ran 1:59 in a pro race, perfect conditions. Today's race was a windy HS race where she led most of the last lap. She's ready to do some damage in Eugene.

I must say, I am rooting for her over Cain. Nothing against Mary. I guess I must like to see the underdog win.
Both are phenomenal athletes and very inspiring, though.
The Cain Train is still at another level, although that is not to take anything away from the Efraim Train, which is picking up speed.
When Mary comes into form again, I suspect it's going to be clear she is the top runner from the US.

I think a lot of the reason I haven't been rooting for Mary is that I wasn't following the sport lat year when she was setting her (insane) records. Nothing against her personally.
What's the most impressive of her times?
1:59?
4:04?
4:24?
9:38?
15:45ish?
Is she the greatest female high school distance runner ever?

None of those. 4:07 at US indoors this year at altitude.
Can we face it, Alexa has a HS choach and resources and is as in almost as go a shape as Mary is right now. Mary ran 2:02 in a fast race at pre and Alexa ran 2:03 at a HS meet. Let's face it, they are equally talented and Mary has an unlikable d-bag as her coach. I'm am from a town that is very close to bronxville and I've gone from MC die hard to wanting Alexa to take her down to reality in a race.

It's astonishing, or would be were this not the forum it is, that people keep invoking this every time people point out that Salazar is conspicuously keeping Cain from racing Efraimson. Yes, we (and I use that term very loosely) realize that Cain beat Efraimson on Feb. 15. Some of us also understand that Efraimson has been improving ever since and that a 4:07 is vastly superior to a 4:3s, while Cain's PRs remain stuck in 2013. We also know that it's customary for rivals to race each other more than once in the course of their careers. So forgive us as track fans for getting excited about a rematch that Salazar seems intent on delaying until he has absolutely no control over it.
^ 4:32, not 4:3s.

Stuck in 2013? You obviously missed indoor season where she ran some unthinkable times. Her outdoor season just started.

How fast did Cain run with a HS coach at a HS meet, at a younger age? 2:03.34. So enough of retarded comments like yours.

And what were those "unthinkable" times? How many of them were personal bests?
Most important, why is it always developmentally disabled, hockey-helmet wearing folks like you who so quickly resort to calling other people "retards"?
The point here isn't that Cain isn't great (even you in your boundless confusion seem to have discerned that much) of that, in your meaningless opinion, Cain's indoor season has not yet begun (her NOP teammates have certainly been busy enough, so why not her?). The point is that her coach is undeniably fighting to keep her from racing Efraimson.
that form though
Look at the propulsion power in those legs. Alexa is a beast.
Cain is probably smarter bookwise, but Alexa is superior when it comes to looks. Much more photogenic.

Agreed. That 4:07 race was astonishing, even with our elevated expectations. On the other hand, she scraped up against the injury wagon a bit at that point.
As for Alberto keeping Cain away from Alexa, I think it is quite shrewd in the big picture. By not wasting mental energy duking it out early, both girls are going to be able to keep focused for World Jrs, which will be a Clash Of The Teenage Titans.

1) I didn't call anyone a name, only the comments. There are lots of smart people on here who post stupid things blinded by hatred towards certain coaches, athletes, programs. The comments can be stupid without the poster being stupid.
2) Try reading my post again as you seem confused...next points to clarify...
3) Indoor season is over...so pretty sure Cains indoor season did begin and end...just as the rest of her teamates.
4)2:35.80 (WJR weak record or not) and 4:24.11 mile...then a 4:07.1 1500 at altitude to win nationals. A 4:27 mile at Milrose off a slow pace which was probably a better race than her 4:24. Is day her indoor season was successful and full of prs.
5) as I said her outdoor season just started. Unlike her teammates she was not training in Oregon, she was finishing her sr. year in HS and doing proms and tests. So I think she gets a pass for starting a season involving traveling a bit late.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
