Shocker
They need to fly in Alberto to lobby on their behalf.
In seriousness though. I watched the race and I didn't see anything.

I went back and re-watched the race too and cannot see any exchange that appears to be out of the zone. The only possibility would be 2 to 3, but it looks like it is made in time.
Looks like Berry on final exchange might have had left foot behind exchange zone when he started. Only thing that I could possibly see.
NCAA official says referee plans to review ESPN footage of Oregon's 4x400 DQ, but that tape won't be available until 9:30 am Friday.

I took another look. I see what you're talking about, but when I froze the frame he looked fine to me. Obviously I'm looking at a less than perfect angle, but I think at best it appears to be very questionable to me. We'll see what happens.

Picture of protest filed by Arizona State saying Oregon's second leg stepped out of his lane on the third turn of the race. I re-watched this part too and don't see what Arizona State is talking about. You would think ASU would have been watching their own runner who took off near the same time...
Shows the team directly to right of UofO (left of photo) with their right foot on the line, and their left appearing to have moved from behind the line.

Why is the handwriting so horrible?
This seems so dumb. I was at the meet and didn't know this even happened till I saw on letsrun tonight. I didn't stay for the woman's 10k though.
I feel technicalities in sports can be so over the top. Rules are important, but I don't know.
Eom
When we left the meet, here is what we think we knew.
Oreogn was DQd for stepping on the line for at least 3 steps in succession (we believe on the third turn). Eagle Eye supposedly confirmed the DQ.
The Oregon coaches were considering appealing using ESPN technology but the ESPN guys had all gone home so this thing may not be over yet.

haha :D
Track is a beautiful sport, but I'm beginning to suspect that it's the administration of the sport that holds it back from broader mainstream popularity. At every level, too much cloak-and-dagger, double-secret protests, with decisions made only after everyone leaves, and...zero evidence. It smells cooked. Overcooked.
I seriously doubt that the umpires would have missed an obvious lane violation (2 consecutive steps on or over the line) and the ASU coaches did. I'd be shocked if the referee didn't overturn the DQ.
