I'm an Oregonian. I've been to Hayward numerous times and think it is a great venue. But I have to admit the glorification of Hayward has gotten out control. Its like some weird personality cult run amok. In every post race interview in the Hayward infield the athletes are asked about the "magic" of Hayward field.They really need to tone it down. Ultimately if a venue is great, than the greatness speaks for itself.

oh.. come on, Its a great Place! The Olympic Trials were Great! Running in Oregon is great............Long live Pre and Hayward Field ! but I am biased....
The announcers sucked! Just ask the mens 800m runners in the second heat.
I dont find it to be nauseating. I just like poking fun at it because im fully aware of how much nike is using prefontaine and hayward field as big time marketing tools.
That's fine. Its a great venue and nike runs the school. Its just not the only track with history in the US. Not by a long shot.
