Last year, everyone's favorite bastion of prestige put up a performance that many thought would never be topped - a 33:55 10,000.
This year, they did it again. His fickle teammate James Leakos was near the back, but did finish in a much faster 30:54.
Here's the kicker - he's now been DQd.
Perhaps for going to the outside of the track during the race to talk to his coach. How hilarious is it if that's the case? He gets DQd for 'illegal assistance' in a 30:54 performance.
I heard he moved out to lane 8 to drop out, but where he was on the track he wasn't able to so he just finished...LOL
Did he get lapped only once or did the lead pack lap him a second time? I understand the top 12 from the West and top 12 from the East make it to Nationals, but I mean come on..If you are that slow and are getting lapped once if not twice, you are just getting in the way of the faster lead runners as they have to swing wide to pass you, not to mention holding up the meet while you run solo to barely finish.

The anti-triple crown - a DQ, DNF and last place showing:
2014 NCAA outdoor - DQ
2014 NCAA indoor - walked off track while in pack mid-race.
2013 NCAA xc - last place 253rd in 36:39.
Like with Secretariat, I'm not sure if we'll see another performance like that in my lifetime.
Which is harder to do that or the 33:55?

all other situations, it's more of a psychological issue, something that he's admitted to in the past.

I've seen Koralev run multiple times now, as I live in the area. He's one of the most entertaining runners I have ever seen.
I hope he continues to improve and run after college.
