I actually thought Stinson's move wasn't that dumb. The Africans were just going too fast. All the non-africans were letting that breakaway of 5 go (they were bunching up and fighting to not lead) so stinson could have opened an insurmountable gap. There were just too many 67s and 68s for him so he had to settle back into the peloton.

It was idiotic.

He was probably in shape to shoot for 28:40-ish tonight, with some luck, and chose to run with the big boys at 28-flat pace, or very close to it.

It was instantaneously obvious he'd crash; just a question of how bad.

Stupid racing.

Rosa and Dunbar ended up with much more even splits, much smarter races.
