I don't know who will remain in the NCAA because most of the top track schools will be in the Power5 in a few years which will have their own rotation.

This meet is well run, fan friendly and folks are knowledgeable, it must really piss people off that folks care about it.
Look it is the first day and it is a big graduation period for almost everywhere,and it's Oregon's home turf, and they are in mix on guys and girl's sides, of course they will be mentioned all over the place.

Let's put this in perspective. Today's attendance - 9,165 - is higher than last year's - 9,001 also in Eugene - and nearly more than the 2011 & 2012 day on totals combined in Des Moines (5,713 for 2011 and 4,052 for 2012).
Hayward has the four day record for NCAA attendance which was 45,847 for 2010.

Please tell me what T&F meets in the US don't post field events in both metric and imperial measurements. Feel free to include any youth, high schoo, college and professional meets that don't post both. Oh, what's that? You can't name any?

But the rest of the country does not call itself "track country." Eugene embarrasses itself annually by inviting the world to an IAAF elite event to be cheered on by "knowledgeable" fans who still aren't aware the IAAF has been METRIC-ONLY since the 1960's, or that the IOC has never used anything but metric.
Sorry to break it to you, but if you don't know a 2.40 high jump from a 2.25, or an 86 meter javelin throw from an 82, you know nothing at all of track and field. Knowledgeable fans can watch Zurich and Brussels without Dwight Freaking Stones translating the marks for them.
I can tell you have never lived in Eugene. Only tourists fall for the track town hype.
