You've got to be kidding me. These guys were content in running just under 1:09 for the half...together. I can't believe atleast one of these guys didn't run under 1:07.
If you look closely at the team results...no other team even came close you having three guys so close together. A 5 second spread between the three! Wouldn't have been so bad if they were running with Young(18th/1:05:33).

no...my guess is Justin Young hasn't either, yet he he put together a solid run.

whats that got to do with anything? does the indian climate mean that runners from the US all converge to the same time? A 5sec difference indicates to me that at least two of the runners were within themselves for a large part of the race.
According to the IAAF results, the time was a PB for Teddy. If so, good for him, although the accusations will only get hotter and heavier than the New Delhi air.
In observing the US team at this past weekend's IAAF events, Mr. Cox and Mr. Mitchell were running with Mr. Young early in the race (15:11 at 5k 3 together), but both fell back to the other two runnners (US) just past 15k and Mr. Collins dropped back further to his finish position. Mr. Cox actually did not catch back up to Mr. Cordes and Mr. Mitchell until 100 meters to go. They never seemed to be jogging. The air quality in India on race day according to an IAAF official, had less breathable oxygen than most altitude training sites in the US. Thus the polution levels were almost equivalent to altitude. I understand that the one American who ran well trains and lives at altitude and the other four do not currently and this would tend to show why he was 18th position and better prepared.

Teddy M lives and trains in Albuquerque. If I am correct, this is at altitude and poor air quality, too! With this logic, he should have been up with Mr. Young (and Teddy's EPO should aid, too!!)
The winner ran 1:02...that's a good 2 minutes slower than his PR. My guess is that Teddy, Josh, and Nick ran together because it's much easier to run in a group than to struggle in the heat with no one to pace with. So, given the 2 minute handicap their times should be worth about 1:03:30 for Justin and 1:06:40s for the other guys.
you can't judge everyones result on the basis that the winner ran two minutes slower than his PB...the runners in 4th and 5th were just seconds off their PB's for the half-marathon. Kirui ran hard enough to win...which he still put 16 seconds on everyone in the feild. So to say Young's performance was worth a 1:03:30...and the others ran equivalent to 1:06:40 is obsurd.
As for the weather...the condition weren't ideal, but managable. The temps were 25 degrees centigrade(about 75-77 degrees fahrenheit) and 80% humidity. Ask Beardsly and Salazar about these conditions...they'd agree that the weather was fine.

Kirui was happy with his race: “The course was not very difficult,” he said afterwards, “I felt very good and the conditions were fine for me.
“I arrived yesterday convinced that I was going to run well as I have been one of the fastest in the world this year. I thought conditions here would not be so easy, which is why I only arrived yesterday, but they turned out fine.
You US guys think you've got it bad......if it had been a mixed race our lone male entrant could have "jogged" with our lone female entrant and finished together!!!!

they were running just fast enough to beat the women's race winning time...check it out......i'm not buying this hot, humid, polluted air BS.....
exactly...they would have barely beat the women. and some of you are actually making excuses for them.
i atleast hope these guys had a nice trip and a good night out before the race. they obviously didn't come to race!

Why would Salazar say the weather was fine? Despite digesting tons of research and repeated attempts to adapt to the heat, Salazar couldn't run for crap in it. Now, Durden and Clayton would say it was cold.
