He must be off the PEDS for the time being.
He must be off the PEDS for the time being.
If that's the case I'd like to now what kind of drugs Ryan Hill (13:57) is cycling off because they are a lot more powerful
He's probably sick and/or in a big training block. He'll be sharp again soon enough. It was just March that he got silver challenging Ndiku at world indoors and maybe he took a break after that.
39 year old runs 13:31
That would be a catchy headline.
Lagat takes 1-2 weeks off after every indoor season... so you start doing a little math: Carlsbad was March 30th I believe, so 2 weeks off... he's only been training for a month and a half. And he's sage like and patient, so he's probably aiming to run fast in August and September. That is likely why it was slow.

Lagat races into shape. This is by no means a good result but you never bet against Bernie

That has nothing to do with it. This was just a bad race for Lagat plain and simple. He didn't enter this caliber race to run 13:31 and lose by almost half a lap.
Once a cheat always a cheat. Everyone knows what up
Just before the 2003 World Championships in Paris—where Lagat, now with a 1500-meter PR of 3:26.34 was set to take on El Guerrouj and his world-record time of 3:26.0—an official gave Lagat a letter informing him that he had tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO), an injectable red-cell boosting hormone forbidden because it increases stamina. "I grabbed that letter and said, 'Don't even joke like that.' Then reality sank in. I cried until I got sick." He was suspended, pending a test of his B sample. For five weeks he was in moral agony.
"My defining story for Kip is how he handled Paris in '03," says Manners. "I'm sure he was clean because two weeks before he'd been given a blood test, but was absolutely unconcerned. He had brought his parents to Paris—their first trip out of Kenya—not something you'd do if you were afraid of being disgraced. His only worry was how to get them passes to the meet."
Lagat didn't even take supplements, and had a needle phobia. "I was running my best clean," Lagat says evenly, suppressing his fury. "Why would I ruin it?" He was barred from the Worlds.
"It shafted him internationally at the height of his career," says Manners. "But he was always calm, determined, focused, the exact opposite of what I'd have been. He was the embodiment of the Nandi warrior. You don't behave like a child. You don't raise your voice, you act like a man, and that was him."
Five weeks later, he was vindicated. His B sample was negative. But the ordeal was such that he couldn't shake it off easily. For months he wondered why this had happened to him. There were millions out there who had read that he was a doper. Could he ever rebalance the scales? Should he quit?
"Coach Li said, 'Prove to people you are a man of dignity by running faster,'" says Lagat. "Part of the solution was coming back stronger than ever in 2004. So I used that experience."

Another athlete with a positive A sample, and negative B sample for epo:

"Today's race was one of those that you look forward to competing at and doing good in it. Well, It didn't go as planned- was a rough one!"
Run fast every time out --> Doper.
Run races of varying quality --> Doper.
Hard to win in the LetsSuck court of opinion.
Here's how Bernie got a negative B sample:

Haters gonna hate. Long live (and compete) Bernie.

None of those methods would get you at negative B with a positive A. Try again.
Trust me the top athletes know the TRUTH about him. People can say what they want and defend him to you're blue in the face, just like Lance.

A lot of the athletes KNOW the NOP is dirty. I've never heard anything about Lagat from (multiple) reliable sources.

Actually, last time you told your made-up story you said Lagat was dirty.

The doping stuff I know from a friend whose going to be coached next year by a guy that is very well connected with the NOP. The friend was talking with the well connected guy like a week ago and the well connected guy said "rattle off names and I'll let you know." He said Lagat, Rupp, Ritz, Centro, Farah are dirty.
0/10. Next time please be consistent with your trolling.

Most top athletes defend and support him.
