Do you really think rupp would be holding the 10k American record if all the other American runner got the same kind of coaching and equipment and doctors that he's has. 1) Pollen is high but not insane in eugene (tomorrow will be worse though)

2) They ran at night partly for that reason

3) He wore his mask prior to the race

4) If you ever read anything , when he races in high pollen count days he tends to pay for it after the race (lost training etc.) not during.

I enjoyed his efforts over the last 1000 but hated him again once he crossed the line.

Totally agree. Plus he completely took advantage of the Africans and ran like a coward not doing any work leading at any point.

I don't hate the guy at all. By all accounts he's a nice person. That said, it wasn't really a race but a time trial set up for Rupp. He's fit and has more in the tank. Leave it at that.

He was given these opportunities for a reason...he initially earned them. People saw something in him and helped develop it. You going to call Mary Cain spoiled too? She earned the right to be coached by NOP. When other athletes develop and earn it, they can train with them too.I for one am not a Galen fan, but I don't have anything against him either. It made ma happy though to see him cross the finish line demolishing about 15 east Africans.

Rupp 12:58.8 to True 13:02.78 in the 5000 as of now. I know Rupp is in probably low 12:50 shape. I would put it past true and mead to get down to mid to upper 12:50s this year in better races. Now put either of those guys in rupp situation, you they aren't running 12:58 like rupp instead of 13:02. Doesn't matter. They're all using some shit. And I know this from guys I've run with who have used and made US distance teams. Rupp is just lance Armstrong to me. He's got nike and there money and he's got better doctors who are ahead of the testing. Cycling isn't the only drugged up sport.
