Ran as the pacer from 3-8k, comes out with a sub 27 minute time.
Congrats to him.

He did a hell of a job. Great race.
Dude gutted it out HARD CORE. Major respect.
Agreed, he is not afraid to do the work required for a good time. He has the mentality.

He's "not afraid to do the work" he was paid to do?
Imagine if Cheserek had gone to run for Dr. Li
How crazy would this be wrote:

Did he get paid to drop off and let Rupp win?
That was awesome. I loved when he was about to drop off and the announcers wrote him off, then he was like "nah, screw that" and went right back up and took the lead again. Awesome running.
The guy who came in fourth did not have the "best race." The person who wins, especially quite handily on the last two laps, had the best race. It's amazing how often some of you folks try and pretend otherwise.

Sambu had the best race relative to his fitness and goals going in. His goal was to pace then drop out, he hangs on and runs a time no one thought he was capable of. I love Sambu, but thought of him as a 2710s guy.
What utter rot. There were a lot of there runners in the race. Rupp got nowhere near the WR so don't celebrate.

Look at his time progression:

That really was an incredible run. Amazing.

Yes, that was a great moment.
Jeezus. Why go there? The best is the fastest, not the race you LIKE the most. Go watch gymnastics or synchronized swimming or some sport where style and ratings matter. This is track and field. The best is the fastest run, the longest throw, the highest jump. Period! There is no gray area here. Fastest = Best.
If we are grading racing on a curve then lets get the 5 hour marathoner in the mix who pops the 3:50 on a bum leg and carrying the beer gut with him.

Yep .. too cool.
Thanks Xenonscreams. His 5k PR is 13:31. 10k PR is 26:54. Can you U.S. fanboys take you Rupp-googles off for a second and do the 5k-10k maths?

Bekele is the fastest by more than 25 seconds over Rupp.
New 5k pr tonight. 13.26!!!

Nobody today is near the WR, idiot.

His 5K pace is 6.17 meters/sec. His 10K pace is 6.20 meters/sec. If you put that on a regression line, you get approximately a 1:50 marathon.
Poor Ventolin's calculator is going to blow up.
