1:57? the last 800 to get the record. Unbelievable.

Teleports away with 900m to go
for anyone who says Rupp is a pu**y or whatever, just watch that move with 800 to go where he shits all over everyone

wow! what a wonderful race. Hard pace, good wind up from a long way out, he did it on his home track on American soil and he got the win. can't really say how solinski's is any more special than rupp's record run this time.

LOL.
You mean a few B-list Kenyans who just traveled 24 hours to race in Rupp's backyard, with his coach trackside?
Very impressive.
No wonder they didn't want to run too close to him

he just ran 25 laps at an average pace faster than you can run one. think about it that way doper
tanui is a medalist at least year's WC and a silver medalist in World XC, one of the hardest distance races in the world and Rupp dusted him tonight. He ran 26:44 and dropped a 1:57 last 800, so props to him. Doesn't matter who was in the field the time speaks for itself.
ATTA BOY RUPPY!!!!
That's equivalent to a 26:38.109498234 if there is no pollen.
26:44....LET THAT SINK IN!...WOW!
anyway you slice it....it's a very fast time!...and Galen made it look easy.....no falling over, no gasping for breath, no water bottle at the end, etc...just like the kenyans...easy come...easy go...just like that! WOW

Exactly why PEDs should be allowed. I completely doubt that Galen is using PEDs. He is always subject to testing. Yet you take away his accomplishment with two words. Can we celebrate a US breakthrough?
What U.S. breakthrough? An AR that is still nearly 20 second slower than the WR.

The last thing that sleazy and the rest of the doping Nopers want is leagalized PEDs. They want to bogart all the good stuff.

I agree! Year after year isn't Galen one of the athletes to get tested the most (you can look it up if you are so inclined..) Bottom-line, basically all the hate on Galen just stems from jealousy. Old-washed up middle aged men enjoying the local mediocre weekend 5k, have to bash on every single accomplishment of Galen's, every AR saying he only runs that good because of drugs. Really?? Put a little more effort into your own training and maybe you'd jog a little quicker. Major props to a well run race by Galen!!
Pre held the AR when he died for 5000m. 13:21.81. Double that and you have 26:43.62.
Rupp just ran 26:44.
Amazing how one of the sickliest people on Earth (37 TUEs, who knows how many non PEDs) can do this. How is there enough room in that gut to fit in food with all the pills?
Don't hate. Rupp is going to go down as the best US distance runner ever. Say what you want, but no one has accomplished what Rupp has accomplished. Compare his PRs to any other American. Rupp owns every American. Facts speak for themselves.
Kenya's two best 10000 meter runners ran tonight. Rupp was very impressive. I am not sure who else people think should be in the race to make it legit - perhaps people think that some of the half marathoners or marathoners would do better. But I am not sure that guys like Kipsang or geoffrey Mutai would be much better than Tanui, Bett, Sambu or Karoki. Tanui did out kick Rupp last year and he may have been tired from his previous race.I would like to see Koech, Gebrihiwot, Gebremeskel and Alimerew try the 10000 in Brussels. What happened to Komom? Too bad about Chelanga. I had hoped Chelanga would PR.

Bekele ran 26:17.53. Rupp was more than one second slower per lap.
