I hadn't thought much about the possibility that Tyson could be lying through this thing.
Drummond either took the first step in clearing his name or just pulled a Lance and it won't turn out pretty for him.
Lawsuit is in Ft. Worth where I live.
Any lawyers want to chime in?
Not WADA, USADA...
So is letsrun changing its editorial stance now? That poor little innocent Tyson just wanted to run clean and was misled about the product he used in and on his body, a product which by the way was clearly labelled as containing a banned substance.

Why not? I mean it would be nice if a cheating athlete told the truth about the situation, but that doesn't seem to be the norm, does it?

?
In order to file he has sworn that his testimony is true. In a civil proceeding he now has the right to despose testimony from Gay and USADA. He also has the right to examine all written communication between Gay and USADA.
Gay and USADA are the ones who aee exposed to liability here
Another case involving Drummond and a drug:
Tyson Gay and his management team now are now required by law to prove and backup the elaborate lie they created.
This will not turn out for Tyson Gay, USADA will be forced to reverse the back dated suspension when they discover the false information from Gay's "cooperation" statement.
The Strategy Gay's camp is using is to dilute the blame. If it is just Tyson and PED's, it looks really bad for Tyson. If he includes 10 others in his PED program, he is just 1 out of 11... the legal problem now is the burden of proof is now on Tyson Gay to prove others were involve.

The allegations of a civil complaint are not sworn testimony. Complaints are signed by a plaintiff's attorney, not the plaintiff.
Sometimes complaints are supported by a plaintiff's sworn declaration but not as a matter of course and not apparent in this case.
Drummond may well have the opportunity to conduct discovery against Gay and USADA but that is not yet guaranteed as there could be grounds for a motion to dismiss.
I would hope that if USADA intends to hand down a lifetime ban to Drummond they have solid evidence to go on and not just hearsay testimony from a third party with a vested interest.

We never said it was poor little tyson. We praised tyson for cooperating with USDA and presumably telling the truth.
IMO USDA has shown that if they had reason to believe tyson was lying they wouldn't give him a reduced ban. Because of that I assumed tyson was likely cooperating and telling the turn as far as usada could tell.
I have seen nothing from usada formally discussing Drummond. I'd have to go back and look up what exactly tyson said about Drummond. I am aware of the David Epstein articles .
Has USADA not earned the benefit of the doubt? Where have we heard this, they don't have any evidence, hearsay...blah blah...before? Marion Jones, Floyd Landis, Lance Armstrong. It always turns out the same.

When did we say that? We simply said that he seems to have taken substances given to him by people who work with high profile stars in other sports.
He's still an idiot for not realizing it was illegal.
But a key thing in my mind is to remember that Gay tested positive multiple times over a short period of time. Only an idiot does that. David Epstein always tells me it's very hard to get caught once - let alone multiple times - if you trying to hide it.
Also Gay was on the extra testing super tight thing for Wada - project clean or whatever it was.
The saying "A drug positive is a failed IQ test" seems to apply well in Tyson's case.
Who cares what was said/assumed before. The fact that drummond is suing make this case, in my opinion, even more legitimized. Hopefully this opens the cans of worms that is plaguing our sport
Well Drummond's story is interesting. Tyson was never the brightest bulb. If Drummond stopped coaching him a year before the positive drug test, then I don't understand how he is relevant to the case. Sounds like a lot of hearsay right now, but there should be evidence available to support one of these stories.
Did anyone notice how he just pulled the typical "my athletes didn't test positive" blah blah blah. Sounds like a suspicious statement, give that it's much easier to just give the more definitive statement that his athletes don't take any PEDs.
He said, she said. Hard to draw any conclusions except somebody seems to be lying.
For what it's worth (basically nothing, I appreciate that), I always thought of him as one of the most blatant drug users out there during his career. Personally I don't believe a word he's saying here

Rojo,
Your response is exactly what the poster accused you of saying. You are making it sound like Gay was simply naive and trusted the wrong person and that he didn't know he was cheating. Come on, he was most likely a doper his whole career.
