World domination. Even considering altitude and wind, still amazing.

Windy but not howling. Baylor had two under 10.00
Thank you.
4.2 wind is a lot, but he won by .13 and this is a guy who ran 9.99 in high school at great sw. 2nd was 9.90, third 9.91.
What happened in the 2? Do I need to be worried?
Powell from Baylor went a windy 9.77
First four were sun 10.00
Didn't realize that Lubbock is 992m of altitude, a mere 8m short of earning an "A" designation on the lists. Still, very good times in the sprints/hurdles mostly across the board. A lot of those, however, will stand as those athletes' PRs for awhile as they'll be tough to improve upon.
so what would this translate into if there were 0.0 tail wind???

Correcting for wind only - 9.94.
Correcting for wind and altitude - 9.95.

To my knowledge, John Teter's 9.91 is the fastest all conditions time ever run by a caucasian (faster by .01 than Lemaitre's 9.92).
Teter's wind and altitude adjusted time of 10.10 would be the fastest time ever run by an American caucasian. Kevin Little ran 10.14.
Like Bromwell, this is a guy that deserves some attention.
Bromell looks good, good knee drive, short contact time, but floating just a bit. A tailwind helps guys who float more than it does guys who don't.
While this is a 9.95 adjusted for W and A, he would be lucky to actually run that anywhere, unless his start and drive were terrible in this race (couldn't see it on the vid).
Yes he is injured. That's the chance you take for racing him in the 200 when he just put his body through something extrememly stressful. He may have had wind and altitude help but his body actually ran that time and that's tough for anyone at that speed like Bolt, Gay, Blake, etc and he made a much bigger drop so his body can't handle it.
"tough for anyone"
This is correct. You are right at your limit, and shlt breaks down, and you really have to take it easy because you are extremely sensitized to injury.
Gay and Bolt do drugs to get back as quickly as they can. Any time you see a guy running consistent sub-10's not too far apart, you can be sure he is drugged. Being RIGHT AT YOUR LIMIT takes its toll, and you need to rebuild.
Hats off to him, he ran balls to the wall for the win.

Is he? He said he was ok on twitter.
Ok? Hmmm, he wouldn't lie now would he? We shall see in 2 weeks and I hope he is ok but happened far too many times where even guys thinking they are fine are not and that's based on elites, not just run of the mill national class sprinters.
Moral is run that fast, sit your butt in the stands and recover before going max speed anytime soon.
Gay and Bolt do drugs to get back as quickly as they can.
Correction; Gay and Gatlin do drugs,
Powell drinks too much coffee, as does Blake.
Bolt so far eats chicken nuggets, so he'll prolly tests positive for exessive levels of antibiotics or bird flu in future.
