She also looked worse running that fast than any other woman. It makes you wonder how much faster she might have run with decent form. Assuming she was dope-free, she was an awesome runner. But after Lance Armstrong, who the hell knows anymore?

The obvious differences being that Paula did it over several years, while Junxia's performance was extremely short, and once she set her 10,000 meter record she never approached that time again. That is rather suspicious, don't you think? I'd like to believe that Junxia's performance was clean, but I doubt it.

The Chinese doping was just 'late to the game', i.e. in the 90s, while the Eastern Bloc was 70s/80s. These countries are controlled from the top, so it's all state coerced.. There have been more recent examples like Turkey, Russia, Belarus etc.

So, how much time can you gain drafting? Looks like 1 minute per hour here, or a gain of 1/60th in performance, or 1.67%. Now, tell me if that is realistic or stands up to scientific data.

You need to remove all the times prior to the Bio Passport era.

Then you should remove all the times from countries where there was inadequate monitoring and insufficient out of competition testing.

Then you have your clean list.

I thought Wejo "escorted" her in Chicago 2002 (2:17).According to some ARRS calculations, Paula, and all of the elite women, benefited 1:45 in London 2003. For comparison, the ARRS calculated a 1:42 benefit for the women in Boston 2011. London 2003 race reports talked about a strong wind from the south-east, which would have been behind her for much of the race. Adding the bias back suggests Paula's real ability was closer to 2:17:10.
