Should be interesting.
Should be interesting.
what just happened there? did the field not realize Wote wasn't a rabbit?
That was uninspiring

Uninspiring? I found it to be AMAZING. On a VERY windy day, one guy has the guts to go with the rabbits and he runs 3:53!!!
To see someoone crush the field by 7 seconds was very intersting.
Amazing.
The facts are if he was American, people would be amazed by it.
The race was sort of the opposite of the Boston marathon. The #1 guy on paper got an insurmountable early lead.

Should have been more specific,I wasn't referring to Wote's performance but the Americans.
Merritt and James are great for TV.
Kirani for a young guy really gets it. He lost but said it's his best opener ever.
As for Merritt, he said it was the most serious early season race of his life - no joke as he won $25k!!
It was good to see them enjoy each other and hug each other.
Rivals push each other to more greatness. Thank you Drake!!!
Brianna Rollins loses in 12.58 for the first time in a long time.
Do these races today have $50,000 on the line like yesterday? If so, how come the announcers don't say anything about the big prize money?

Thought I posted this but it got stuck on my computer.
That sure was interesting. Man what a race.
Not sure why Tim Hutchings wasn't sure what was happening. My view when it started was this, "It's windy as hell, the guys are betting on it being tactical." Willis would have loved a tactical mile.
Instead, Wote risked it all and was rewarded with an incredible victory.
Not sure why they called Willis the favorite. If Wote, who got the silver at Worlds, is flying all the way over to Drake to race, he's the favorite particularly since he beat Willis at Worlds.
As well it should be.....foreigners get way to much coverage on the front page.
damn, I forgot about it and missed it
Since I don't have Universal Sports, guess that means I'll never see it
Total respect for Mister Wote for manning up in the race.
The rest ran like typical tactical nonsense and don't deserve their fees/awards.
Total respect for Wote.

Any World Championship rematch is a money run. 100Hurdles yes, 400Hurdles yes, men's mile NO
Good race by AJ. Really pulling for him to have a breakout year. Would love for him to get with a training group.
Wote shows what cowards white "athletes" have become LOL.
Look at what Tony Waldrop - and the rest of the field did 40 YEARS AGO - compared to what happened today.
You are all brainwashed cowards. Go home whitey.

You should have specified what they did was at the Penn relays. But I do agree that whites - in the US and most of Europe - are completely pussified these days. Most of them, that is. The few that aren't PC are the only alphas left.
OK, most Russians are not brainwashed PC cowards.
Is there a replay available anywhere?

The bonus for a meet record in the mile was $10,000.

Random tidbit since I was in attendance - the crowd started laughing b/c there was an awkward moment when the announcer didn't announce the name of the far left runner (on the screen). That runner just raised his hand anyways & the crowd cheered/laughed. The runners then went to the start line & then were asked to step back. That's when the announcer said the name of the final runner & the crowd cheered.
Interesting tweet from Nick Willis re: the rabbit pace reguested by Wote. Pretty much indicates Wote was def. going after Webb's record & that $10K bonus $.

He tweeted some other things re: the race as well on his page.

You could pay $150 to watch it on Flotrack.
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Ryan Eiler, 3rd American man at Boston, almost out of nowhere
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
