I would imagine a marathon would be one of the hardest possible sports to justify a fix, expecting a certain outcome, to work.

some people here judge marathon based on PR's performances. They think that guys who've run 2h03-2h05 should run that in every marathon.
they don't seem to understand about the sport. World is full of examples. Makau just set a WR and one year later was running 2h14. Kimetto and Desisa are very talented but they can't 2h04-2h05 in every race.
I am not even american but i am happy with Meb's victory. those who say it was fixed should be ashamed and study more about the sport.
