This is great, he has a much better (as in less small) chance of winning this way. The only reason to run with the lead group was for the fans.

Are you being sarcastic?
If I was allowed to bet in this damn country, I'd bet on him dropping out with a hamstring problem in mile 21.
Aiming to go thru in 62:15 .. He shoulda just ran in Paris with KB.
Well I guess if you don't have a qualification time you can't expect to be in corral 1. Anyway, from my experience running Marathons, corrals 2 will only cost you a couple of minutes or so, so the British record could still be within reach.
I sort of agree with Hardloper.

Yes, except for the fact that it was a two year deal - He ran the half last year (albeit for a handsome paycheque) and now intends to complete his other half of the deal by running the full the year after.

I wouldn't think so. The second group is scheduled to be on pace for a course record. It would not be at all surprising if the winner came from such a group (depending upon who is in it).

Wow!
It seems that Farah team has faced reality.
Farah will finish the race if he doesn't go out at crazy speed..
He also has a chance at winning if everyone collapses but Kipsang, Kiprotich, Kebede, Mutai E. and Mutai G. will not all collapse.
Therefore, Farah wins not!
i'm pretty sure this is now Joffree's shape :

What happened last year NativeSon?
First half 1:01:35
1. Kebede 2:06:04
2. E Mutai 2:06:33
4. Kipsang 2:07:47
5. Kiprotich 2:08:05
DNF G Mutai
guys tried to break each other down and all the kenyan guys end up hitting the wall and kedebe out ran them at the end ..
wtfunny head the nail in the head and predicted that Farah will go slow in the first half "I don't think Mo will go with the leaders if the pace is too hot ... Considering 2013, I think he'll sit back, and maybe run with Kiprotich or someone, and aim to pick up some places as the leaders begin to wither. Kiprotich has a good history in Championship races, and Mo hasn't raced the marathon before. I doubt Salazar will instruct him to go with a super hot pace. 2:05/2:06 is my guess"

Okay,
I take it back.
I still think giving a stab at the WR is the way to go.
damn the consequencies. Lol!
You know what they say... if a marathon were run on a track, it would be possible to be lapped and still come back for the win.
