for mid distance runners (800-5k), will replacing a long run with a tempo be more beneficial?
Something like 2 mile warm up, 25 min tempo or 20 min (at 5:50 pace for a 4:57 miler)? , strides, 2/1 mile warm down
My weekends training has been
Friday - Off
Sat- Moderately hard session (mix of paces)
Sun- 1500m TT, some strides
Mon - ?
Tues- Scheduled hard session
Wed - Scheduled easy
