southern conn. is a very good school however, i beleive that donkey kong is the greatest game ever
So far it looks like U-Lowell and Stonehill are the two best teams out there, but Southern is looking very good as well and is probably the only other team that would have any chance at making nationals for the men. Lowell seems to have the advantage been Stonehill will be looking for a slip up and will take advantage if there is one. For the women it looks like Stonehill will easy win again this year for who knows how many years in a row but the fight will be for second place...biggest contenders look like U-Lowell and Bentley.
As for results the only teams that look like they have run full squads are Stonehill and Southern. Southern was very impressive at the Central Connecticut Invitational and Stonehill easily won their home invitational with minimal effort from the front runners. This weekend could be a big one with teams running at some of their first meets as full squads such as the Pre-National meet and the Iona meet. Should be interesting.
ian hunt from umass lowell ran 24:10 in the JV race at the umass dartmouth race...he just might win nationals
i doubt that quite seriously.
D2 men looks like Lowell the best ...very strong with Morasse & Kapfer...Hunt will be # 3...Stonehill looks good with Smith and McKeon, but Soul is not running and one of a very good frosh class is hurt. Southern CT. has run great this season with Gale and Richnasky up front and will push Stonehill for NCAA spot. Bentley is overcoming injuries to Agnew & Ramirez but they always run well at end of the season.
D2 women are Stoenhill easily winning but Buckley is not running. Chivakos should win NCAA qualifier. Lowell, Bentley. and Assumption will battle for final spot at NCAA qualifier. Plante and Osborne leads Lowell while Bentley has Bouchard and Brocato running well and have depth. Assumption has a good chance also, the race for the last spot for women may be most exciting part of NCAA Northeast qualifier.
I have watched stonehill, umass lowell, southern ct., and bentley mens teams all race once so far this year. umass lowell has the best mens team, followed by a tie between stonehill and bentley. Bentley however gets the upper hand, their depth is awsome. Bentley has proven so far that even without a large handful of their top runners, they have a very deep talent pool to choose from. All I can say is watch out for Bentley once their four missing top 7 runners return. Southern ct always looks good early but at the end of season they can never produce.
As far as women go i think stonehill looks the best followed by Bentley.
I dont know...I seem to think Stonehill might get Lowell this year. The freshman they have recruited are the best in the Northeast and it doesnt seem like Lowell has brought in much new talent besides their transfer. By the end of the season, I wouldnt even be surprised to see some of those new Stonehill freshman running with the top Lowell guys.
thats just the stupidest thing i have ever heard...stonehill freshman running with lowell top guys? lets remember that stonehills top senior guys can't hold a bone for to the likes of patrick morasse, nonetheless some pathetic frosh, if he was that good he wouldnt be at stonehill
I agree that Stonehill brought in some great freshman but they are freshman and will struggle to run with Morasse and Kapfer by the end of the season. Lowell did bring in some guys besides Kapfer (Nick Parker, Tom Davis, Brandon McKinnon). Their top frosh at UMass Dartmouth was DeWitt where the heck is he from.
