This could get very interesting after the drama that happened at the US indoor championships. Hasay has the 10k background, and Grunewald has the mile, 3k background. Considering Hasay posted up that 4:28 she's shown she has the speed and with her endurance things are looking good for her, HOWEVER Grunewald's PR over 3,000 meters being in the 8:30's is dangerous with it being so close to the race distance. Who are we picking to win this?
Oh crap! Grunewald vs Hasay rematch at the Carlsbad 5k, who's gonna win?

4:28 does not indicate speed - GG for the win -
Yeah, this will get interesting, I say Grunewald... It seems like she's on a streak, but then again maybe Hasay, fast mile, okay 3k, and she got to taper off for this a little better. Who knows? What about time prediction? With Brenda Martinez in there we could have 3 American women under 15:40!

USATF and their cancer-biased infringement rulings will win, hopefully if Jordan smokes enough cigs before the race she can get "impeded" and Greenwald is DQd

Yes, but it depends on the runner... If we're running a 5k, and you come from a 10k background, an okay 1500m can be all you need for a fast 5k which is Hasay's case. Look at Ben True, he only ran a 3:42 1500m before his 13:14, then 13:11 later that summer. 4:28 doesn't indicate "speed", but it might be enough speed under Hasay's belt for her to beat Grunewald... -
Who has the sharper elbows? GG in a romp.
-
Def Hasay, she just now adjusting to the Salazar training, and w/ her fairly good indoor season, I say she's ready to rip a fast 5k, look for her to go to Payton Jordan, Oxy, or Pre, at break 15:15
-
Hasay beats Grunewald, finishes behind Martinez, Martinez DQ's for impeding by Salazar, you heard it here first folks

Grunewald has pretty good experience on the roads. When is the last time Hasay raced on the roads?
-
Someone's going down to the pavement, that's been the trend lately.
-
Well there's a debut for everything

this is hasay's first actual competitive road race
but brenda martinez is gonna smash them
my predictions (for just those 3)
martinez 15:22
hasay 15:41
grunewald 15:50 (falls or something) -
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm will there be bun huggers involved?
-
Just buns.

You can bet more than one person is going to visit the pavement. With Grunewald's arms flailing wildly and her technique of running up a runners back, watch out runners!

Hasay is overdue for a 5k pr. All else equal, I'd say Grundelwald dominates her (USAs wasn't even close).
But since Grundelwald just finished worlds, she's probably not ready. -
Seriously, Grunewald had to run over everyone to win at USA's. She blew by everyone at USA's because it was SO SLOW. The real Grunewald racing came out in Worlds. It was a much faster pace, she wasn't even close to Rowbury at Worlds who she blew out at USA's. Carl

no Africans in this race?

This ^^
Just because Grunewald beat Hasay at USA's means crap in this race. That was tactical and that doesn't suit Hasay's inability to not kick as well. This race will involve Kenyans and Ethiopians so you know for the latter half it will be long and drawn out therefore, Hasay has the upside hear. Her 10k experience lets her grind out races. We see that in World Indoors, that was something Grunewald wasn't able to do.
