Only a government can impose a law. The term "international law" implies a supranational government, which is a contradiction, because if there were one, all the nations under it would cumulatively be a nation unto itself. The UN isn't a government and it has no authority to impose laws and no means to enforce them. If a citizen breaks a law, the government throws him in jail. What's the UN going to do of America violates it's "laws?" Is it going to throw America in jail? In summary, there is no such thing as "international law." Thanks for reading.
