Simple - she didn't meet the selection criteria

2014 World Indoors Selection Criteria includes the following :

"Must have achieved a relevant British Athletics qualification standard within the qualification period"

That standard for Women's 800m is 2.03 and the qualification period was 1st Jan to 16th Feb, so yesterday's run obviously doesn't count.

You cannot understand UK selection policies.

Although the letter of the policy has been followed this time in the case of Meadows, UK T&F selection policies have long been controversial. Some readers will recall the 1988 committee voting 15-14 NOT to send defending (double) Oly champ S Coe in the 8 or 15 in spite of possessing the qualifying marks...
