sh*t - this is really not good. I'm a big Mary Cain fan, but I have to say this has a very bad ring to it. No real history of injuries, was running very well a week ago, would presumable just be tapering / sharpening for worlds...
It's going to be very sad if it turns out Salazar had Cain doping, she's been caught, serves a 2-year ban and then has to re-start her running career. If that's the case, everything she accomplishes will be tainted no matter what she does. Yuck.
I sincerely hope and believe that Mary is clean, and that this pullout is because of injury. Not to her legs though, but stress, with all this news coming out. She is probably blown away by all the NOP stuff that has happened, and this news coming out today is the final straw, and she wants to disassociate herself with the group before it's too late. At the moment she is NYC based, while the group is out west.
Now that you've already turned pro Mary, go to Coumbia, get a great education and train professionally under Gags. Take your time. Don't rush anything in your career. you have 4 Olympcs ahead of you, so there is no rush. Enjoy the ride, and don't get caught up in the hype being forced on you.

salazar's team can test for everything in house, so there are never any surprises. why else would have moser skipped worlds last year? something in cain's check up didn't check out.

You can't compare her to adults much later in their pro track career who got caught doping. If she was caught in 5 years as a true pro I wouldn't be shocked, but as a high schooler who's 16 or 17 years old?!? I can't believe Al Sal is crazy enough to have her doping already when she's still living in her parents house and doesn't have access to his daily testing or whatever else.
