Just a 5:40 pace for 400m repeats and my body would eventually feel better at this pace? or should it be like 5:30-5:20 on the repeat pace?

6:00 mile for what distance?
:( 1 mile. My 5k pace is 6:40 6:45 pace.
Anyhow, i'm wanting to drop my 1 mile to 5:40 range, i do about 45 miles a week currently, and on my 400M repeat day, i'm just curiuos to how fast i should do my 400ms?? I was doing em at 1:15-1:17 and that was WINDING me big time to the point i didn't want to do more than 3-4... Should i just do like 1:25 400's?
1:20 to 1:25 with long rest. 1:25 to 1:30 with short recoveries.
do any workouts at all and you'll break 6
A typical mile time indicator workout is 8-10 x 400m @ mile pace with 1 min rest. So since you're aiming for sub 6, you should be able to do those at 89 to do it. It may vary depending on your fitness, though.
You can try to do cut down intervals where you start at current pace then gradually drop down. If you did 8x400 you might do 90,90,90,89,89,88,87,86. Then the faster pace will feel better and you haven't gone all out.
I disagree, I really dont think most people can handle their mile pace like this, if you can do 6-8 with 1 minute rest at a given pace and its all out I usually find thats my mile pace, but maybe Im just strange or dont push hard enough because I run alone
