Mary Cain and Ajai Wilson will both medal.
Men: we have Lagat, Sowinski, Symmonds, Lomong, Leer.
Women: we have Gabe Grunewald, and Mary Cain.
Lagat medals, and maybe outright wins the 3k.
Sowinski or Symmonds medal, depends on who has a good day.
Lomong or Leer will medal. They have strong kicks.
Grunewald medals with a strong kick off a slow pace, if its not off a slow a pace she doesn't medal.
Women's 1500 will be slow and tactical, comes down to a final sprint between Cain and Aregawi, the winner comes down simply to who feels better on that given day.
You're high.
Lagat, Rupp, Sowinski, Symmonds, and Cain all have a shot. But I would only bet on Lagat.
You can't "medal" at a non-major. Well, you do get a medal, but it's not a *real* medal like from Worlds or Olys that you want to make selfies and pick up lonely sailor boys at the gay bar with.
I'll make my predictions for the men
800: Symmonds gets eliminated in semi-final. Sowinski cracks under pressure and gets 6th (last) in the final.
1500: Leer doesn't make the final. Lomong gets 7th in final.
3000: Lagat wins. Rupp gets 4th.
Come on people.
We have the #1 and #2 ranked women in the world in the women' 800.
Wilson was a worlds outdoor finalist.
Cain and Wilson are near locks for a medal.
Lagat is in fine form.
Lagat gets 3rd, Gebriwhet wins 3k (if he runs), Rupp 5th
Cain 2nd, Aregawi wins (if she runs)
Grunewald 6th, Dibaba dominates if she runs
Wilson 4th
Symmonds 4th, Sowinski 6th, Aman wins (if he runs)
Ajee Wilson medals (lowest profile of any athlete not mentioned on LRC).
I think some of you don't realize the extent to which Kenya is downplaying this meet. They only have eight men and women, total, going. They have no one in the women's 800, and one in the 1500. More medals will be up for grabs than you might expect.

Which is why it is a non-event. Glory in the medals however, as it might persuade those getting them (Cain, Wilson, etc.) that they can also medal in 2015 and 2016.
This may be the last World medal that Lagat gains. 40 year olds should not be medaling at Worlds outdoors or Olympics.
Rupp will win worlds and Olympics in 5 and 10 in 2015 and 2016 as he overtakes Mo F. (the marathon experiment will end his career) as the best in the world. Then he attacks the 5k/10k WR (sub-12.35 and sub-26.15) before moving to the marathon and becoming the first under 2hrs.
i say
women
800- wison gets gold, price bronze
1500- cain gets silver
men
3000-lagat at 39 amazingly wins gold.
Nice troll. Ridiculous to claim USA won't medal at all.

You're right, it's such a silly meet. It's not like some of the world's best will be there or anything like that. It might as well be a high school district meet.

Ethiopia's team is still strong. Lagat would have to beat Hagos Gebrhiwet and maybe Dejen Gebremeskel. That's a feat.
I agree - I think Lagat's gotten awfully confident that he can take gold but I just don't see it happening. I find it comical that nobody yet thinks Rupp will medal - I would be very surprised if he didn't. Gebrhiwet will probably be the hardest to beat.

Im confused. Are you talking about distance events, or 800/1500/3000?
