There is a huge rumor going around the famous Bill Cosby ran a 1:52.8 800 meters and could have gone to the Olympics but stayed in school instead.

Really, 1:52.8?
I heard a rumor that he ran 1:51.8.
Their website lists the top 3 all-time, it is easy to check this rumor...
If he ran there, he was slower than 1:52.97, because that is their third best mark all-time.
So the rumor must be false, unless he was running on his own or the records were somehow lost.
I miss Fat Albert!!!
He was a decent high jumper....
Like most of us, the older he gets the better he was. He was an Ok high jumper, probably never ran a collegiate 880 in his life. They never ran 800m.

Nor does an education stop you from running in the Olympics.

Like many amazing, hard to believe performances, this one happened during a workout. ;-)
This thread is much, much less convincing than my "Eminem ran 1:54 in high school" thread...

So no one else caught that the OP put 1:51.8 in the subject line and 1:52.8 in the post?
Rumors fly fast when there are typos.
I remember watching an old episode of "Cosby" (not to be confused with the 1980's "The Cosby Shoe" where he plays a high school track coach and he showed some nice form over the hurdles back when he was younger and skinnier.

Remember when he got run down at Penn in the Cosby Show?
I heard he ran the mile in 4:20
WR for 800m while wearing a sweater is 1:57.
I thought it was 1:56.3
