threads often pop up asking "what runner had the best range?", and we get a list of PRs accumulated over the course of a mutli-year career. but what do you consider your best display of racing range within a fairly short period of time?
example: i recently ran a 1:07 HM a year to the day i ran a 1:57 800m PR...not that impressive as i'm sure most 1:07 guys could run 1:57 if they trained for it (but maybe not vice versa). but it was just strange to consider how different my training focus was & how quickly the body can adapt to different stimuli in one year vs. the next.
what about range in a short period of time for elites?
Farah running 3:28 and 2:0X within ~9 months of each other will obviously be impressive....any others come to mind?
