Hi all, first I'd like to say thanks for reading my post. I'm a Junior Highschool Runner and some of my PB's are:
400m:54.4
800m:2:06
1600m:4:43
5k:17:09
Now, outdoor season is approaching and after having a terrible indoor season I'm looking to not let down my team this year as I am suprisingly our best distance runner. What workouts would be suggested to improve my 800m/1600m times? Should I do weight training or track work during the winter period, and if so what kind of workouts would be best? Some times I'm looking to hit are around 2:00 for the 800m and 4:30-4:35 for the 1600m and I'm willing to sacrifice all the time I have to achieve this. Thanks everyone, I hope some of the more experienced runners here can help me out!
