Willis calls out Rupp

I think it is reasonable for Willis to be disappointed. I also think that people will jump all over him for this tweet.

Finally, someone who has a legit right to call Rupp out is doing it. I still think Rupp did the right thing by DNFing instead of getting injured. But NW has every right to be annoyed, unlike the trolls.

Like when it got tough in the Olympics or World Champs, Rupp just quit...

How had the going gotten tough? They ran a slow 800 and were, as a group not interested in racing it seemed.

Being hurt, if he felt something, is a perfectly reasonable reason to drop out only if being cautious.

Had it been a hot pace, I might understand people questioning his action but it wasn't.

Now why Rupp didn't force the pace, I don't know, I thought he would want a fast race.

Drug testing was pretty tight at the meet on saturday, just saying...

Never mind that Willis has had his fair share of less than stellar races, who hasn't?

If he wanted more of Rupp, he could enter some 5/10s.. wake me up when that happens.

Has Willis ever raced anything longer than 1500m?

He's in a position that makes that a legitimate complaint, unlike most of what the board says about him. It doesn't help that no one else in the field could give him a good race

Pretty funny. Even Willis hints that Rupp drops out when the going gets tough...

Good for Willis. Any professional SHOULD be disappointed that one of the best runners on earth (and easily the most hyped guy in the NB mile) pulled out uninjured.

BTW, what was the other race against Willis that Rupp DNFd? It's hard to keep track of all of Rupp's non-finishes.

It's easy to avoid poor results when you step off the track (or won't even start) after the slightest perturbation like Rupp, Centro, Sol etc. Although to be fair that it common for Rupp and rare for Sol.

It is not common for Rupp to drop out of races. That's total bullshit. I really don't get the post-race workout though. You drop out of a race do to injury concerns...then immediately go do a hard workout? Absolutely bizarre.
