Hi, I am a frequently injured distance runner who has never had more than three months of solid training before taking at least 4-5 months off due to injures. Currently a junior with sophomore eligibility.
My running log since November looks like this. Before November I didn't run much since October of 2012. All workouts are 800 meters or longer at 5k pace which is about five minutes per mile.
November:
Averaged 21 miles per week with only 1 workout. total of 3 hours of biking and 1 hour swimming.
December
Week of 2 to 8: 4 miles running. 150 minutes biking. 30 minutes swimming
Week of 9 to 15: 70 minutes biking (4:25 mile on banked track)
Week of 16 to 22: 10.5 miles running
Week of 23 to 29: 19 miles running
Week of 30 to Jan 5: 22 miles running 1 interval workout
January:
Week of 6 to 12: 10 miles running 1 workout
Week of 13 to 19: 17 miles running 1 hour on bike (9:09 3k and 2:00 800 split)
Week of 20 to 25: 6 miles running 50 minutes biking 45 minutes swimming (1:57 800 flat track winning by 5 seconds)
During the 800 race I tore callous off the bottom of my foot creating a full thickness blister about the size of a half dollar coin. Dr says it will take a month to heal and I can't run for a few weeks.
With the outdoor season now the priority should I stay focused on the 800? I think I could be a sub 1:55 guy if I could get up to 30+ mile weeks by late April. I've run 25:57 in XC off of 30 miles per week if that means anything.
