"His workouts say he's in 804-806 2 mile and sub 350 mile shape. If I had to bet my life on it, I'd say he runs 806 and 349." - Alberto Salazar mic'd up from the live post-race workout Thursday

For Galen Rupp's 2-mile record attempt in Boston this weekend, Alberto Salazar is hoping for splits of 4:03 and 4:01
i personally don't like -ve splits for distance races & going out at 4'03 may cost him the wr
i reckon in a perfect race, for indoors he coud currently go 3'49.0 & a perhaps conservative estimate of 12'50
3'49.0i / 12'50i ->7'26.2i , 8'01.1i
he's got in hand that going out at "only" 4'03 shoudn't damage his chances of chasing a poor 8'04wr
he is more likely to break it than fail if he gets his 4'03

no offense to great man, but he is way off if he thinks he's in sub 3'50 shape ( call it 3'49.0 ) & only 8'04/8'06
3'49.0 / 8'04.0 ->12'57.5
his 13'01i wouda been ~ 12'55.0 at worst if he'd just run a tight line & much nearer 12'50 if not for uneven pacing
rupp needs to strike whilst iron is hot & shoud actually be looking for
back-to-back 4'01s...
8:03.6 if he gets it. 8:07.04 if he fails you heard it here first!

Does anyone know if they have good rabbits this time? Is Levins a part of the rabitting?
I predict DNS: course not Salazar-certified
