Workhorse for the showhorses? pacing duties? Or working on speed before moving up to longer events? IMO, she just leap to the marathon where the money is awesome and the competition is soft.
Hasay kinda reminds me of Hall. Hall ran a sterling 3:42 1500 in HS, but now it's clear he did that because of his monstrous aerobic engine, not because he had the tools to be a great mid-d runner. He spent time languishing at 1500 for a while in college and it wasn't until he moved up that he really started to have success.
Same with Hasay. I'm not sure she even has the wheels to be competitive at the international level at 10,000. If you look at the 10,000 runners who have success internationally, they generally are capable of running the Oly/WC "A" standard (or even faster) at 1500. Hasay's not there yet, and she spent plenty of time at the distance. She still might get down to 4:04-4:05, but I'd be a little surprised.
My opinion is that her biggest potential my lie at the marathon, but I want to see what she can do at 10,000 this year and maybe next before going down that road.
