supposedly around 5:40s, but that's assuming they're recovered fully and running in perfect conditions. i'd guess it's closer to 6 minutes, because they ought to be doing a fair amount of recovery runs in the 6:30 zone

I don't think they run 6:30 pace ever.
Before Mo joined salazar's group he was doing his runs at 6:40 pace which salazar thought was crazy slow. He pointed out that some of the high school boys he coached at galen's school ran faster than that. He also noted that mary cain ran her easy mileage at 6:30 pace before she joined salazar. He has given the figure 5:40 pace several times which really isn't fast for someone who can run under 27 minutes for 10km.
Malmo has stated on these boards that he did loads of runs at 5:40 pace. That sort of pace is truly easy for guys of galen & mo's level.
So what would be wrong with them running 6:30 pace? It's not like the boys who run faster in training always race faster.
Watched an interview of Galen on Flotrack, after he ran AR in the indoor 2 mile, he was going 6:10 pace, looked relax, answering questions easily.

Haha, what a savage guy! Just bouncing and talking completely effortless. :O I can do 6:10 but I would probably ask the reporter to shut the f*ck up! ;)
