I mean, he dnf'ed the London Marathon half way through. Over 30,000 runners beat him that day by simply finishing the race. I'm sure it was tough lining up at other races knowing even senior citizens had beaten him in April. Will he come back and have a better year in 2014?
Not sure. He did win a couple of races in Moscow in August, but there were only about 30-35 people in those races. Nothing like getting beat by over 30,000 in London. Hopefully, he can put the past behind him and have a better showing this year.
He's been having a rough last couple years. Did you see that 100 he did? Put a fork in him cause he's done.
He should have run our local turkey trot in November. He could've won and beaten 200 or 300 people. That would help put the numbers more in his favor.
Not sure he can rebound, but he's probably pretty good behind the arc.
Will appear washed up in '14 and '15, but dominate in 2016. Takes 5000, 10000, and marathon golds in Brazil.
Good point. This probably affected Rupp as well. Imagine knowing your training partner that you can't quite beat got smoked by so many in April. So much of running is mental. That had to affect both of them. Maybe Ritz too.

Didn't he run a 1500 last year? I'm pretty sure it was after the debacle at the London Marathon. It was a decent time, but not a world record or anything. I think he realized long distances are too far for him. Kind of sad. Such great potential.

Aha, mystery solved. I was running in Hyde Park back in April. I met an older chap from the U.S. He said something about training for the Olympic trials. The bloody Olympic trials. He said he had beaten a gold medalist recently. I remained polite, but I thought, Americans are such dimwits. Mo at London makes sense now.

This is probly why Magness left NOP the year before. He knew Mo would ruin NOP's rep by attempting London. Probly why Webb left too. Surprising others stayed.

Ritz ran great in Chicago. Saved face for Salazar as a marathon coach. Not sure how AlSal could coach Ritz to a great marathon, but not Mo in London.
Mo never should have crossed the pond to train. US has Gallowalking. Total crap. Mo drops a clanger like that in the City, and British running is in shambles.
He's fine. He ran a NR at 25K in May.
