This better not become as annoying and overhyped as "The Decision".

Why not?! The exposure it would bring to the sport is much needed and would do wonders.
That's what he is truly trying to do.
Ya'll are just some haters. The guy is the best middle distance runner in the world. Even as young as 14 , people knew nick symmonds would be destined for greatness. He lost in the olympics and world championships not because he lacked a killer instinct but because nike didnt support him with a great coach and workout partners. Rudisha is nothing he just rode his irish coach into a win at the olympics.
Nick symmonds is the goat middle distance man.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Kinda a dbag move in his tweet last night. He knew he had a new sponsor.

No, quite a poor attempt at trolling humor.
Well, it was better than Manzano's hints that he was going to have a "major" announcement.
Symmmonds is a very smart and rather accomplished buy who's been a pro for seven years and probably won't be one for seven more and is probably justifiably sick that he's a sport whose worse than second tier status is just quietly accepted by just about everyone. He's trying to alter that. I don't see any reason to fault him.

why does everybody on these boards assume that it is a universal goal of all hobbyists(like me and you) to make elite level distance running as popular as the major team sports? I like it for what it is and couldn't care less if a professional athlete can make a livable wage competing or not.

More like it makes athletes look like they are full of desperation!
