Hey Leo, change your headings to Biography/Biografia and Contact/Contacto rather than having separate spaces for each heading in English and Spanish.

No shoe company that starts with N despite all the guessing yesterday... no non-shoe sponsorship either... just...wow. "buy my shirt?" that's what he's offering?

And I totally agree w/ you vivalarepublica - he's created a navigation nightmare for the ages there. I guess "tshirts" doesn't need translation, but contact and contacto do!?

What do you have against bilingual garages? I take my car to a bilingual garage and they do good work.

Purple and gold T-shirt? Is he getting a masters at LSU?

You're not being serious, are you? You realize each heading leads to a page when clicked on, right? If they were condensed into one heading, they have to lead to the same page, which kind of defeats the purpose of a bilingual website, no?

Seriously, there has to be some reason no shoe company will sponsor him.

I know marginal runners who get some kind of deal from Nike, Saucony, Brooks, ASICS and he can't get anything.

I don't think it's the Mexican flag thing, didn't Meb waive the flag of his natural born nation with the US flag?

I could be wrong on that, it was a long time ago.

But still, there is some reason Leo isn't getting anything from anyone.

It's got to be that video of him licking himself multiple times in multiple places pre-race. It's just plain creepy.

No, had Meb waived the option of taking the other flag he would have been fine. But unfortunately he waved the flag and a lot of people were pretty upset as well

I really like the idea of runners looking directly to fans for financial support by giving them some inside access to training logs, etc. The sport has been too dependent on the running shoe industry for sponsorship and the shoe industry has proven themselves as being incapable of finding and supporting new talent or continuing support for accomplished athletes who have had some bumps in the road.

LM will announce he is Roman and not Mexican.

A Kickstarter isn't such a bad idea for some of these up and coming athletes. If they know they'd be happy with maybe $20k crowd sourced to fund them plus any additional winnings, then going right to the fan base might end up working well. It seems like a genius idea for guys struggling to get a sponsor. Sure, family and friends feel guilted into contributing, but for real athletes we've all heard of I think we would all be glad to donate a few bucks and feel invested in some of the athletes. We'd feel like we had a guy/gal in the race.

I will buy a shirt if he promises to lick the nipple area before shipping it to me.

Just kidding. The shirts are kinda ugly. I think I would buy one for 15 bucks if it wasn't as ugly. 20 for an ugly shirt is too much for me, although I am moderately interested in supporting him.

That simply is false. He can get something from all of the shoe companies -- just not what he think he is worth so he won't sign whatever was offered to him. How much more than zero do you think he is worth to a shoe company? I can't see him being responsible for any additional shoe sales so he's not really worth anything.
