Can I get super ripped in 8 weeks and what should I do?

not interested in xfit. Don't want a weird apelike look.

Just want to get awesome abs, look like a mens fitness cover. suggestions?

Seriously, look at CrossFit. If not solid work with Insanity or P90X videos

xfit is crap

1 - gives you apelike look as their exercises are hand selected and overwork some muscles while underworking others

2 - olympic lifting for speed and time is injury waiting to happen. Plus most of the instructors have no actual kines background so are idiots at showing technique

3 - overpriced to the max. You could do the exact same thing at a gym for 1/6 of the cost and actually do other exercise and have more/better equipment to sculpt and train with.

arrrg. I know it is true but this isn't what i wanted to hear.

I would way rather work out hard and eat crap (well not crap but my usual high amounts of carbs) then workout a little and eat high protein.

Last time I went on a high protein , low carb diet I was grumpy and not a pleasant man to be around. Any remedies for this?

You could just keep your current diet and shave ~100 calories/day out of it, most easily by cutting down on sugar. Also, drink a lot of coffee. On top of helping to burn fat, it curbs your appetite.

Yes, that's what I'm asking. You have no idea what genes you have or if you are a naturally talented athlete. There are plenty of other actual real explanations besides "I have great genetics".

THIS is the correct answer.

Some folks who advise Low Carb/Low Fat diets - this is simply not sustainable. Atkins works short term but you're going to give up.

Make sure the meats and fish you consume are fatty ones.

It all depends where you're coming from.

You're an overweight runner so you're likely SKINNY FAT.

I would advise against "cutting" right now. Build muscle first. For that, you will need some carbs (mostly from safe starches like sweet potatoes or white rice) right around workout time.

Drop running completely. Do sprints instead.
