So who is it?
I could tweet something about positive EPO test by a prominent marathon runner but let's not. It's a festive season

He's French.
EPO works on the French.
I appreciate the fact that he was born in Kenya and is effectively Kenyan, but Canova made the rules and the truth is that EPO works on the French. Very well it seems.
Who is Jose Been?
Rumors might be true, and might not. Maybe we should wait for some facts.
EPO is unproven for the marathon.

It's not a rumour, he links to a L'Equipe news story about this guy failing a test.
Unproven? Get a grip.
More facts. Prove it.
Abraham Kiprtotich.
He was suspected since April...
He's a B level athlete.
It's incredible that a 2:08.33 performance makes you a B level athlete, but that only ranked him 75th in the world in 2013. Oh well... Seems that marathoning is easier than I thought.
José Been is a former cycling fan who rose up the ranks into journalism, as far as I understand it. She was even live commentator for Eurosport last year, iirc.
2:08:33 and 2:08:35 for Kiprotich.
So the white, female 1500 meter runners get a pass in Turkey ,but foreign marathon runners get nailed for traces
of EPO.
As well, the government of Turkey instituted roadside tests
for drivers to detect illegal drug use.
Their drug policy is kind of screwed up.

I don't think race has anything to do with it despite how hopeful you seem to be about it.
Their East African imports (despite being obviously filthy) seem to be getting away with things pretty well.
Twitter is going bankrupt. Don't believe the crap they make up.
he's a B level athlete..epo works for them
it has no effect on the 2-03 guys...it slows them down
2:08 in Düsseldorf April 2012, 2:08 in Daegu april 2013, then 2:12 in Istanbul and busted for EPO. Case closed, EPO works!

Yeah, cause every filthy cheat only ever takes their drugs that single unfortunate time when they're actually caught.
Your comment should be a 2 week internet bad in my opinion. It's that bad a comment.

Race has nothing to do with it. Whether Turkey can be trusted to enforce doping rules against its own Olympic gold medalists is, shall we say, an open question.
You could replace Turkey with any country you want. That is the fundemental flaw with drug testing...
Everyone? I mean, most of the top marathoners don't even know that they are on EPO....

Here is the article translated to English:
Turkey should be banned for 5 years from international competition and fined a few million euros which should put into drug-testing research. Turkey should also be banned as a training ground for athletes from any nation. Kenya is now turning out a truckload of positive drug tests each year and they should have the same punishments applied.
Sadly none of these things will happen because the sport's governing bodies really do not want to address the drugs problem in track and field.
